At the end of last week, I had the exciting experience of being part of a talented team of around 50 people at Finhack—the Financial Access Hackathon—held in the magnificent atmosphere of the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art.

For me, these two days were not merely a competition marathon; they were an intensive process of learning and gaining industry insight, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the world of entrepreneurship. Throughout this marathon—spanning Saturday and Sunday—we participated in entrepreneurship training sessions, attended discussions that captured the pulse of the industry, and had the opportunity to refine our project with the help of the jury.

Hackathons derive their value not only from the resulting product but also from the discipline involved in its development and the inspiring people you meet. Thank you to all the stakeholders for this fantastic event and the value it has added. Now, it is time to use this experience as a stepping stone in my new projects and my journey!

Although this was a results-oriented competition, my goal in participating was not merely to win a trophy, but to gain an insider’s perspective on this ecosystem and broaden my vision. We succeeded in making it to the final round as one of the top ten teams to present our project. Even though we did not place in the top rankings, we walked away from the experience with invaluable insights, strong connections, and eye-opening conversations with key figures in the industry.
